A bronze sculpture of two hunting dogs, after P J Mêne, signed.

Pierre-Jules Mêne (1810-1879) was a French sculptor mostly known for his animalier and small bronzes. His quality of work was so high he was considered to have been one of the lost-wax casting experts of his time. He was so prolific in the 19th century that his sculptures had many editions and were reproduced often.
